How is data destroyed?

Data is destroyed by one of two certified methods. Drives are wiped using licensed industry-standard software to NIST and DOD standards, and any device that fails to wipe is immediately physically shredded to NAID AAA standards. Every device is inventoried by make, model, and serial number. A certificate of data erasure is issued for compliance and audit purposes, backed by the serialized inventory report. The process runs under NAID AAA certification, which is independently audited, so destruction claims are verifiable rather than vendor promises.

What certifications does Greentec hold?

Greentec is NAID AAA Certified for data destruction, SERI R2v3 Certified for electronics refurbishment and recycling, and holds ISO 14001 (environmental), ISO 9001 (quality), and ISO 45001 (health and safety) certifications. Its Ontario facility operates under Ministry of Environment Environmental Compliance Approval, Permit Number 6247-6VDJUA. For public-sector procurement, Greentec is an OECM Platinum Partner Supplier across electronic device disposal, secure data destruction, and electronics recycling. Certifications are audited independently, which is what makes them usable in your own compliance documentation.

Can you handle multi-site pickups across Canada?

Greentec handles multi-site pickups with one consistent process: detailed asset audits, secure packing and supplied materials, GPS-tracked transport, sealed containers, and witnessed seal breaking at the receiving end. Chain of custody is documented from every site to the processing facility. Processing happens at Greentec's 83,000 square foot Ontario facility, and white glove onsite services, including onsite data destruction to NAID AAA standards, are available where assets cannot leave a location unwiped. Clients include national organizations such as Air Canada and Deloitte.

What documentation do we receive?

Every engagement produces audit-ready documentation: a certificate of data erasure for compliance and audit purposes, a full inventory listing each item's make, model, serial number, diagnostics, and asset tag or location, and a Certificate of Recycling outlining each material stream by weight. Chain-of-custody records cover transport as well: GPS-tracked vehicles, sealed containers, and witnessed seal breaking. The result is a paper trail your compliance, audit, and ESG reporting teams can use directly, without reformatting or chasing the vendor for evidence.

What happens to devices after processing?

Devices follow one of three certified paths. Remarketable devices are resold, with rebate value passed back to you. Devices that fail data wiping are physically shredded to NAID AAA standards. Non-refurbishable electronics are broken down for material recovery: copper, steel, aluminum, and precious metals. Every material stream is documented by weight in a Certificate of Recycling, so nothing disappears into an unverifiable downstream. Working devices can also enter Greentec's donation program, including the Phones4Food initiative, turning retired assets into community impact with documentation intact.
