Greentec is a world leader in reverse logistics and recycling solutions specializing in the collection, secure data destruction, recycling and recovery of end-of-life electronic waste. Greentec simplifies the electronic equipment disposal process, while diverting hazardous e-waste from landfills - all while complying with strict environmental legislation.

Greentec operates out of an impressive collection and recycling facility located in Cambridge, Ontario. In 2010 the Cambridge facility underwent a 30,000 square foot expansion which incorporated state of the art shredding technologies for electronic waste recycling. Employing over 100 employees at this location, Greentec is a leader in electronic refurbishment and the electronic waste mining process breaking electronics down into their base components (metal, glass, plastics etc.) and preparing these streams for re-introduction into the manufacturing process.

Greentec focuses on three key areas:

Toner and Cartridge - Greentec began operations as an ink and toner cartridge collector and recycler. Since inception Greentec’s cartridge collection program has continued to grow, buying and selling empty imaging consumables from clients that span the globe. Greentec has established an ink and toner cartridge collection, inspection and qualifying process that is second to none, and has developed the most comprehensive empties management program in the industry.

Think Recycle - Founded in 2000, the Think Recycle fundraising program works with schools and non-profit organizations to generate funds by recycling cell phones, ink & toner cartridges, MP3 players and digital cameras. Collected items are tested, evaluated and qualified by Greentec with rebates then being provided to participants. In addition, Greentec plants a tree with Tree Canada or American Forests for every 24 qualified items received. To date, Greentec has planted over 60,000 trees and recycled well over 3 million cell phones and ink cartridges.

Electronics Recycling – Greentec expanded its operations in 2006 to include cell phone and electronic waste collection and recycling. Greentec collects and recycles all types of cell phones, consumer electronics, computers, peripherals, accessories, and electronic waste. Greentec coordinates collection events as well as permanent electronic waste drop-off locations to provide e-waste disposal to the general public and businesses as a whole. In addition, Greentec’s growing Asset Recovery Service provides businesses and organizations with value back for their retired IT assets.
